In honor of the big Duke/UNC game tonight, I’m posting one of my favorite projects I’ve made this winter. These onesies were made for a college friend who is a huge Duke basketball fan. We used to camp out for the games as undergrads with our friends, so I couldn’t resist making making these for their future little Blue Devil. The Duke logo and lettering were painted on with fabric paint. And I made one small 6 month old onesie and one larger 18 month onesie so that if she outgrows the first one, she can still wear the larger one! It’ll last her 2 basketball seasons!
My favorite part of these onesies are the little devil tails I sewed onto the back:
Here is a close up of the blue devil tails. These were easy to make. I just pinned together 2 layers of the blue fabric (right sides together). Cut out the tail shape out of both layers. Sew around the edges except the top of the tail, then flipped it right side out. Stuff with pillow fluff and sew up the top edge and secure onto the bottom of the onesie.
All packaged up with a Duke blue ribbon. I hope they like them!
GO DUKE!! Rip ‘em up, tear ‘em up, give ‘em hell, DUKE!
