My office is being repainted so I’ve been working from home this week! It’s awesome! I’ve worn the same outfit 3 days in a row and haven’t put on makeup for 2 days straight – and no one knows! Except Jeff. Speaking of my hubby, another great thing about working from home besides my carefree attitude towards appearance is that I’ve been able to have lunch dates every day with Jeff now that he is done with school. He sits and works right next to me on his laptop and I’m loving spending so much time with him.
You know what else is awesome? I’m enjoying lots of the herbs and flowers that are growing in our yard these days. We finally have had some warmer weather and my garden is going wild! My parsley is growing rampantly and I’m having trouble keeping up with my mint. It’s growing like weeds in the corner of my garden. I started putting sprigs of mint stuffed into shot glasses around the house. It smells so good!
We also have a couple peony plants in the front yard that are blooming now. Peonies are my favorite! They are light, fluffy, romantic and fragrant. Peonies only bloom in June for only one week of the year so they are pretty special and rare flowers. I really coveted peonies in my bridal bouquet at our August wedding last year and all the florists said it would be impossible but my florist friend found them for me the day before our wedding, making my bridal dream come true. It totally made me so happy!!
I put this fragrant vase of peonies in our bathroom and it smells heavenly:
It was almost 100 degrees yesterday and all my poppies opened up overnight. I stuck a few of these delicate, colorful lovelies into a water bottle, the only thing tall enough thing to hold them:
Another awesome thing? My twin sister is coming to visit tomorrow for a whole week!! I’m ready for a whole week of baking, crafting, biking, swapping clothes and shopping with her! There is nothing like hanging out with my lifelong best friend. We will take this city by storm!
