Hi! I’m back from our apartment searching trip out in San Francisco! We tried our hardest to find a new home for us in the city but who knew the housing market out there is so competitive?! After 6 days, we didn’t find a place so Jeff is staying out there a few more days, hopefully he will sign a lease before he returns! Cross your fingers, we are beginning to panic!
While the hubs is away, I took it as my chance to redecorate!! Hehe! I can’t help myself, I’m constantly changing my mind about our decor and better to do it when the hubby’s gone! He can’t stop me!! Even though it makes absolutely no sense to redecorate since we are moving in less than a month, I had to change things up a bit. For the last year, our queen bed has looked like this:
The duvet cover from Crate & Barrel is one of the Marimekko lines but I can’t find it on their website anymore. Sleigh bed is also from Crate & Barrel but has been discontinued. Tutorial for monogram pillow here. I loved the look of it but felt like it was time for a summer makeover. It now looks like this:
The United States pillow (tutorial here) and felt flower pillow (tutorial here) are recent additions and so is the large “F” pillow in the middle. I’ll show how I made the “F” monogram button pillow tomorrow. Since we are in the middle of a heat wave, I swapped out our down comforter with this lighter quilt that I actually made the summer before I moved to Boston 7 years ago. The quilt took over 60 hrs to make and as I sewed it, I had visions of summering at the cape with this queen-sized quilt, it seemed perfect for a beach cottage. Then the first night I moved to Boston, my new roommate’s dog peed twice on it and any romanticized view of this quilt ended! So sad!! But I like how it makes the room instantly more casual and summery!
