Let’s talk about bridal bling!

Jeff surprised me with the Tiffany Novo engagement ring when he proposed. How he knew what my dream diamond ring was, I do not know, but I love it! It’s exactly what I would have picked out for myself – a solitaire cushion cut diamond on a thin band of diamonds. He has good taste and I give him mad props for picking it out all on his own. (Btw, in the movie Bride Wars, Kate Hudson’s engagement ring was a 5 carat Novo!) For my wedding band, I wanted something really skinny and delicate, so we went with the Tiffany Metro instead of the matching Novo band. Jeff was less picky about his wedding band, so he was very easy to shop for. It only took us an hour to pick out his palladium band from Long’s Jewelers during their annual wedding band sale. He’s easy to please.

As for the rest of my bridal jewelry, I wore drop crystal earrings from Lord & Taylor (scored for half off!) and my mom’s bracelet that she wore on her wedding day. The bracelet was my “something old” and very special to me. My mom had two identical platinum bracelets that my grandfather gave her on her wedding day over 30 years ago and she gifted one each to my sister and I at our bridal showers:

Since the bodice of my dress was so ornate, I decided to go with a really simple necklace so it wouldn’t compete with the dress. My parents’ also gifted me with this beautiful diamond cross, I haven’t taken it off since my wedding day! (sorry, I couldn’t find a good picture of it!)

Besides his wedding band, Jeff wore these cuff links with our initials engraved that I gave him as his groom’s gift. Oh, and he did wear these on our wedding day. Hehe. But that is our secret. *wink*
