Larrissa of Inviting Occasion, who created the floral arch masterpiece for our ceremony, also blew us away with how she decorated our reception. I’ve always wanted an outdoor reception because I thought it’d be so romantic to have everyone dancing and eating under the stars! Rancho Las Lomas, our venue, was already gorgeous with lots of flowering trees, fruit trees, fountains and flowers in bloom, so it didn’t need that much decor added to it. The only direction I gave Larrissa was that I wanted white vases (not glass) and lots of colorful, romantic flowers with no greenery. She hit it right on!
I love this huge centerpiece that was made for our sweetheart table!

I painted a sign with our new last name (whited out for privacy reasons, sorry!) and it got hung below the centerpiece. This was one of the most photographed areas of our reception and I was so happy at how it turned out!
I love the table arrangements, too! All 22 tables looked different! There was a mixture of large lanterns, various floral arrangements, flower petals, candles and mini bicycles. I wish I had pictures of all the different table designs because no two tables looked alike! Here are a few pictures of the table decor:

I nearly died when I saw the mini white bicycles at the Christmas Tree Shop in Boston. They were perfect for my bicycle-themed wedding! And on sale for $5 each! I packed 6 of them in my suitcase and brought them to California with me.
Larrissa had all these beautiful large lanterns in red and white, I loved how elegant they looked! And because I am obsessed with butterflies, she added some silk butterflies to some of the arrangements and to some of the bikes:

My mom had the unenviable job of sewing all 22 of the 12 feet long table runners! (Thank you mom!! I owe you big time!) She even sewed them to a triangle point on each end, which I know was not a fun task. Tablerunners, at $25 a pop, were too expensive to rent, so I found the turquoise fabric at a discount store for $15 a bolt. She made all 22 runners out of one bolt of fabric!
Like the ceremony, colorful ribbons were hung from the backs of some of the chivari chairs:
I also made tons of red tissue paper flowers to put at every place setting!

Hi! And welcome to my site! I hope you find something that inspires you while you are here.

I’m continually amazed by all your wedding posts – everything looked perfect! How did you get the tissue paper flowers to stay at each place setting? I made a bunch of tissue paper flowers for a friend’s wedding reception once… it was an unusually windy day, so they didn’t stay on the tables. I was frantically begging folks for change (we were in the middle of nowhere!) and taping quarters and nickels to the bottoms of all the flowers right before the wedding!
Hi, I’m not sure how often you check this or if you respond to posts, but I want to make a sign for our head table similar to yours. can you tell me where you purchased your wood at?
Hi Ashley! I got the wooden sign unfinished at Michaels craft store. Then I just primed and painted it white. I wrote a tutorial here: http://comeonilene.com/2011/09/19/my-wedding-signage-tutorial/ good luck with it!
probably the prettiest, most attentive to detail wedding i’ve ever attended and had the pleasure of being in
