Versatile Felt Flower Clip (tutorial)

My friend S gives the best presents. Not only are they sweet and thoughtful, they were always prettily packaged in some cute pastel wrapping paper or teeny tiny box.  When it was my turn to gift her with something for her bridal shower, I felt like I needed to step up wrap her gift in an unique way.  She, of all people, would appreciate it.

I decided to make some felt rose flowers which could double as gift decor and a hair clip, since I’m on a roll with making felt hair clips. (Here is a tutorial on how to make the rolled felt roses below.)

The hair clip was pretty easy. I made 3 rolled roses (the gray rose I added extra petals around the outside edges to make it slightly different) and gathered a hairclip and some tulle (hard to see in the photo, it’s leftover from making my wedding veil):

Hot glue the 3 roses and tulle onto a small piece of felt:

Glue the hair clip to the felt backing, then glue a smaller rectangular piece of felt over the prong:

That’s it!! Very simple! Then I just clipped it to the bow on the package.

For the finishing touch, I cut out her new last name with my silhouette machine and ironed it onto some twill ribbon :

Ta-da!!  A fancy wrapped gift to present to the bride-to-be!
