The holidays are my FAVORITE time of the year! I can’t help getting into the Christmas spirit!! I’m a total sucker for mall decorations, red and green candy and Christmas carols. It gets me giddy with joy! Jeff and I have a few traditions that we have started: we always fly somewhere and celebrate Christmas Day with my parents and siblings, we collect Christmas ornaments everywhere we travel, I make a family yearbook as Christmas gifts and we sleep in late on Christmas morning. Last year, Christmas was spent in Puerto Rico and this year, we will be in Puerta Vallarta! Super excited about a having a Feliz Navidad!
We aren’t getting a Christmas tree this year since we are traveling and it doesn’t make sense for us to splurge on one when no one is around to enjoy it. In fact, this year, Jeff is gone ALL of December! Since it’s just me in the lonely apartment, there isn’t much motivation for me to decorate for myself. I’m not even around that much either since I am spending a week in LA and then back to Taiwan/Hong Kong and then straight to Puerta Vallarta. I did put up our Christmas stockings that I made us last year for our first Christmas together as a married couple. They are stockings that I scrapped together with leftover material from my dahlia pillow and monogram pillow. I painted our names on them with white fabric paint (using the freezer paper technique) and found wooden buttons as embellishments:
Since we don’t have a mantle, the stockings are hanging (with scotch tape!) from our media console. Last year, I stuffed Jeff’s stocking with a few small surprise treats, I think I will do the same this year!

Hi! And welcome to my site! I hope you find something that inspires you while you are here.

I LOVE your stockings. I do not have a mantle either so I use those 3M Command products to adhere the stockings to the wall and once stuffed go under the tree if too heavy.
These are so so cute! I want to make my boyfriend and I some fun stockings. Great idea!
