Jeff and I have had the good fortune to be in Asia during Chinese New Year this year and it is really something else. I’ve never celebrated the beginning of the lunar calendar before in Taiwan and the whole country has come alive! It’s so festive! Red lanterns and gold dragons adorn the streets, red envelopes are being stuffed, special lucky new years food are being prepared and everyone is in a celebratory mood. It’s been so special for us to be able to witness this all first hand! Jeff and I were in Tokyo last weekend and we’ve spent the last week in Taipei taking part in the festivities and catching up with friends and family who have flown back for the holiday. We’ll be flying back to the states this week with our bellies stuffed with food and our suitcases bulging with treats, trinkets and lots of crafting supplies!! I can’t wait to share with u guys all the goodies I’ve bought in Taiwan and Japan. I’m bringing home a duffle bag full of fabric!
Happy Chinese New Year!!
