Valentine’s Day Ideas…from Last Year

in holidays, valentines day

I don’t know about yawl, but I’m super excited about Valentine’s Day this year!  A day devoted to pink frilly things, chocolates, hearts and celebrating all kinds of love – I feel like it’s a holiday made just for me!  I’ve been working on a few Valentine’s projects that don’t break the bank (as part of the Frugal February series).  I meant to share a new project with you guys this morning, but got caught up this weekend with the beautiful weather we have been having in SF and the Superbowl (so bummed the Pats lost! again!) so here are a few of my Valentine’s ideas from last year instead.  Click  on the photos to see full post.

This ruffle heart pillow was one of my first and still one of my most favorite (and most labor intensive!) projects. The ruffle technique can also be applied to shirts or bags:

Last year, I made Jeff and I matching shirts to wear on Valentine’s Day!  We plan to wear them again this year!

These fun marshmallows were inspired by those chalky conversation hearts you see everywhere this time of year:

I’ll have a bunch of new projects to show you this week!  And don’t forget to enter my fabric giveaway!

I’m so going to make the heart ruffle pillow tomorrow! What kind of fabric did you use for the ruffles? I’d imagine something thin..?

Hi! Yes, I don’t know exactly what type of fabric I used. I know that it was really thin and light weight, almost like chiffon.
