{This post is a part of Frugal February, a month-long series where I am challenging myself to not spend any money on projects. I will be using supplies I already have, upcycling old materials and finishing abandoned projects. The hubby is rejoicing. Note: this does not apply to recipes and food posts, since I have to eat anyways!}

I was browsing through a small gift shop full of kitschy knick knacks when I saw a silicon mold to make heart-shaped fried eggs (similar to this one). Even though it was only $2.99, I remembered it was Frugal February and I’m not suppose to spend any money this month on stuff like this. Sigh, its hard sticking to this rule!! I’m a sucker for buying useless things! Then the wheels in my head started spinning and I bet I could recreate the silicon mold using cookies cutters that I already had and it totally worked!! You could use other shaped cookie cutters, too, I think a flower would be cute but these hearts are appropriate for Valentine’s Day.
To start, light spray olive oil on a frying pan, also spray the insides of the cookie cutter so that the eggs don’t stick to it, turn the heat on low:
Crack eggs inside the cookie cutters. Some of the egg whites may leak out beneath the cookie cutter, but you can cut that away later:
Wait patiently for the eggs to firm up:
When the eggs are ready, remove from heat using tongs. Be careful since the cookie cutters will be really hot. Slip the eggs out of the cutter, if the eggs stick, you can use a knife to cut them out.
Serve and enjoy!!
Have you seen this neat tutorial on how to make cute heart hard boiled eggs? Too cool! I’ve got to try that, too!

Very cute! I tend to buy things for projects too and then forget about them after one use.
