New Blog Design Unveiled!

Whew!! I’ve had a busy weekend redesigning comeonilene.com and transferring my blog contents over!  If you are reading this, congratulations! You have successfully made it over to the new site! yay!!!  My blog was due for facelift and I’ve been wanting to redesign it for awhile.  After months of going back and forth, I finally settled on a design and just went with it!    The new design is much more colorful and it makes me happy.  I had to add my bicycle in there, too!  I’ve also added a bunch of features to make it easier to find past posts since the old design was really difficult to navigate around.  Here is a brief summary of some of the new features:

For those who are curious about what really happened behind the scenes, I transferred my blog from a wordpress-hosted site to a self-hosted wordpress site.  I was already paying for hosting space for my personal portfolio site, so this switch actually saves me money since I don’t have to pay for a custom theme or domain mapping every year at wordpress.com.   I also designed the theme myself, since I’ve had a lot of experience with wordpress customizations, so I didn’t have to pay anyone to implement it.

I was really nervous about the transfer, but it looks like everything moved over well.  I’m still tweaking a few things, so let me know if you see any problems or have any suggestions on how to make this site better!!
