The author of the article, Cindy Papish Gerber, found me by reading about our wedding on my blog and asked to interview me for her article on unique wedding entrances. The piece was about couples who made “distinctive and unforgettable” arrivals to their wedding. She interviewed couples who arrived at their wedding by boat, by carriage, by trolley and us- the kooky couple that rode into their reception by tandem bike! This is actually the second time Jeff and I have been in a bridal magazine. We were flattered when our “trash the dress” photo session shot by Caroline Tran appeared in Ceremony magazine last year.
On a related note, few people know this, but I’ve surprisingly been in a couple other publications. Back in high school, I wrote an article about my identical twin that was published in Twins magazine, a magazine for parents of multiples. That led to my sister and I being featured in a book called Twin Tales: The Magic and Mystery of Multiple Births. I always thought that it was funny that we were somehow included in this compilation. The book had stories about twins separated at birth, twin brothers who married twin sisters, twins born months apart, conjoined twins and lots of other remarkable twins in history and then there was a paragraph about my sister and I- two ordinary high school seniors who had at that point done nothing significant in our lives. Why anyone thought we would be interesting to read about is beyond me, but we were honored to be a part of it!
