Zoey’s Three Months Old Today!!

in Zoey's First Year

Today marks an important milestone in this new mommy’s eyes – Zoey is now three months old!  My heart is a little wistful because this means that my little baby pumpkin is no longer considered a “newborn” anymore and now graduated to “infant”!   She is growing so fast!  Everyday brings new changes and she meets more developmental milestones.  She is already 12 lbs 5.5 ounces, she grew out of all her newborn clothes,  she wakes up for one feeding in the middle of the night (usually) and she is increasingly curious and alert!

At this stage, Zoey loves:

  • tummy time
  • blowing raspberries
  • sucking on her hands
  • cuddling
  • watching the tv
  • the mobile above her crib
  • grandma
  • airplane rides
  • bathtime
She hates:
  • wet-diapers
  • not being held
  • swaddles
  • her swing
  • car rides
  • afternoons and evenings
  • being carried in the baby bjorn
  • gripe water
  • lying down
  • bottles

As much as I get sad that my tiny baby isn’t so tiny anymore, I’m looking forward to a lot of the new milestones coming up like hearing her first laugh and sleeping through the night.  Plus, all the chub on her makes her even more cuddly!

Thanks so much for all your advice about Zoey’s colic! I really really appreciate the emails and comments from my last post!  It’s nice to hear your support and its encouraging to know that I am not alone in this struggle.   I don’t know how our baby did not inherit her father and my sunny dispositions but I’m clinging onto hope that she will outgrow it soon and life will get better.  She is just so gosh darn cute, her crying breaks my heart!

How can you not want to eat this all up?!

She is so cute . I love your posts and seeing your beautiful daughter . Zoey is my favorite girls name. I Hope to be a grandmother someday. Enjoy every minute. Even the colicky stage. I would rub my daughters tummy lightly and sing to her. I think it helped us both. Eventually she will grow out of it.
